Webinar: Indigenous Peoples and Just Energy Transition — Report Launch
10 December 2025

Join us on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, at 4am PT, 7am ET, 2pm CEST, for the launch of the Indigenous Peoples and Just Energy Transition Report, a collaboration among the Alliance for a Just Energy Transformation, the FSC Indigenous Foundation, and the World Wildlife Fund.
Indigenous communities often manage territories of significant ecological value. They play a central role in stewarding some of the world’s most important carbon sinks and safeguarding 80% of the planet’s remaining biodiversity. They possess wide-ranging knowledge that can guide planned energy pathways to be sustainable and context appropriate. At the same time, they are disproportionately exposed to the impacts of fossil fuel consumption, with over 16% of global fossil fuel infrastructure sited on Indigenous territories. The need is to address the growing pressure of climate change and ensure just energy transition in Indigenous Peoples territories.
This report examines the relationship between Indigenous Peoples and local energy transition. It highlights the challenges faced, and opportunities that emerge, as countries accelerate their decarbonization efforts.
Speakers:
- Dean Cooper, Global Energy Lead, World Wildlife Fund
- Sergio Bonati, Climate and Energy Expert, World Wildlife Fund
- Minnie Degawan, Managing Director, FSC Indigenous Foundation

We look forward to seeing you there!
